DeMar DeRozan joins Shaquille O'Neal and Kyrie Irving as the cover athlete for NBA 2K18 the Canadian version. This is the first time when the game features a localized cover and it's also the first time for DeRozan to be on the cover of an NBA 2K game. By taking this decision, 2K wanted to honor not just a great basketball player but also the Canadian player base. A large portion of the NBA 2K fans is from Canada. The 2017 installment is expected to be released on September 19 but those who pre-order are given the opportunity to start the game four days earlier. NBA 2K18 early access starts on 15th of September. 

DeRozan is a shooting guard player who is part of the Toronto Raptors team. This season DeRozan and his team made it to the Playoffs for the fourth year in a row. DeRozan has been with the Raptors for eight years. He joined the team in 2009 and he finished this last NBA season with 2,020 points. DeRozan obtained NBA All Star three times. Some of his other achievements include playing in the World Cup in 2014 and also in the Summer Olympics in 2016. DeMar DeRozan is represented in NBA 2K17 MyTeam with an 85 OVR sapphire card. 

The NBA 2K18 DeRozan edition is only available in Canada. He is featured on the cover of the standard edition. The legend and legend gold editions have Shaquille O'Neal as the front cover athlete. Players can already pre-order the game online or at a retail store. Canadian players can also acquire the physical version of the legend and legend gold NBA 2K18 edition.
